Christmas Carols
Music at Christmastime is so glorious and exciting. I'm one of those who can't wait to play Christmas music at our house. What's even better is to hear my own children play it at recitals. The girls and I also attended The Garland Symphony Holiday Special where Rachael's violin teacher plays in. There was a guest opera singer who sang a mean Mr Grinch and ended with the entire audience singing carols along with him.
Nutcracker 2014
Rachael and Jillian participated in the Nutcracker as gingerbread bakers. These were the cutest bakers EVER! What was also exciting about this year's Nutcracker is our good family/church friend played the role of Clara. The girls thought is was so special when Clara would come up and hug them at the show and rehearsals.

Fall 2014
Where to begin....I can't believe how fast time has gone by. I just looked at my last post, back in August....yikes! I'm going to do the best I can summarizing our fall season before I add Christmas stuff.
We'll start with September birthdays!
Ava:
It's official, I now have a teenager. My sweet, little, baby girl has grown into the most beautiful person. Very caring as she is sensitive. Generous, and fun-loving are also words to describe her. She continues to participate in our church's JCDA where she provides service to her church, community, and for those in need. This school year, I outsourced Ava's writing, literature, and science classes. She has earned straight As in all classes so far this year. Ava competed in a piano competition this fall where she received 2nd place overall playing William Gillock's "Flamenco". Ava continues with her soccer team Adrenaline Rush. They made it to regionals this season, competing against Mansfield, Arlington, and Lewisville. They are now beginning their indoor season. The biggest new for Ava is...no more braces!!!!
Jillian:
Our Jilly bean is now 6yrs old though to hear her speak sounds as if she's 12. She's the most serious, grown-up little girl you'll ever meet. She will laugh, but you have to do some serious tickling. She is very loving to her mommy and her sisters. She wanted to do ballet this year, especially when she heard she will get to participate in the Nutcracker in Dec. Big sister Ava is teaching her to play the piano. She so far is playing songs like "Old McDonald", and "Mary had a little lamb". Jillian is almost done with her kindergarten curriculum and will be heading to 1st grade soon!
Jake:
Jake is your typical sporty now 6yr old boy. He's into anything that involves a ball, with soccer being his favorite. He continued on his Fire Dragon team for the fall. He was also recruited on the elite Mutiny team at one of the skills clinics he attended. Since they offered him to play for free- we took their offer and he received great coaching and has learned many new skills. He blew through his kindergarten so we are moving him into 1st grade. He is also learning to play the piano from Matthew. We'll see who's the better teacher.
Matthew:
Matthew has now caught Ava in height. They are about 5ft 2". He's such a charmer and a GREAT help around the house now that he has big boy muscles! Matthew continues to play piano and is planning a duet with Ava for the Christmas recital. He chose not to participate in the fall piano competition ( he get so nervous) But will do the one in the spring. Matthew received his orange-black belt in karate this season and continues to do well with his schooling.
Rachael:
Our spunky Rachael continues with her violin and dance. In ballet, she is working on the upcoming Nutcracker performance as a gingerbread baker. Her violin playing continues to make progress as she prepares for her Christmas recital. Rachael loves her schoolwork and strives to get the best score she can get. (not at all competitive)
Matt and I joined a co-ed indoor soccer team that plays on Friday nights. That way we make ourselves have a date night and exercise in one. It has been really fun for me, I had no idea soccer was so challenging. Matt also turned 41yrs the year. We celebrated the usual way with a nice dinner and his favorite strawberry cake. Happy Birthday my love!
Here are some random pics of our fall. I only had a few Halloween ones this year, but in case you couldn't tell...Ava made her costume - girl ninja. Matthew - ninja, Rachael and Jillian - Elsa and Ana, Jake - Captain America.
