New for us this year is participating in dance competitions. Although I don't enjoy hanging around dance moms, I do love watching my girls dance. This year we participated in Tremaine, Groove, and Bella Moxi competitions. They won 2nd, 4th, platinum, and saphire awards. Here are some pics and videos:
Things are starting to look up during all this covid pandemic. We found a place to perform our Nutcracker, the old courthouse in downtown McKinney. They turned it to a stage in 2006. It was like going back to the 40s with all the antique theatre chairs and old fashion stage. What a gem! The girls had a blast and it was a highly entertaining show for the audience. Rachael performed a principal role as Chinese princess. She also performed as a snowflake and flower. Jillian also earned a junior principal role as one of sugar plum fairy's page. Jillian also performed as an Arabian maiden.
Christmas went on as usual, we still had parents/grandparents, uncle, and cousins over to celebrate. Best time of the year!!!
Later in January, Matt and I celebrated our 23rd year anniversary with a very long overdue night out! Looking forward to that 25year - ITALY here we come!!!
Now comes Valentine's - people calling it "Snovid" for a very good reason. Texas decided to top her record by dumping snow/ice and leaving us in frigid cold temperatures in which at this moment (spring) I'm having to dig up my dead bushes of 20years that did not make it. Of course, we decide to remodel our bathroom and have our floors done starting 2/10. This means we had furniture out under our patio when all the ice/ snow began to come. To top it all off, I was stuck at work and slept in a hotel room for 5 nights in a row. I was lucky to have a roommate working the same shifts who stayed with me. But seriously got old when we ran out of food!!! We hiked to several closed placed until we found a QT that had roller food containing mystery meat - never looked so good! The kids, however, were not affected by this as their co-ops are used to doing zoom classes when the need arrives. Dance was done online. Waterpolo was canceled 2 weeks bc of a pipe that busted. Praise to the Lord we had no such damage. While several neighbors went without power. Matt cooked meals and had people over to warm up.
When is spring going to be here?!?
