May

What a wonderful month May has been for us this year! Ava made her First Confession on May 1st then her First Communion on May 16Th. We are so proud of her. We also finally made it to the zoo, another day and it would have been too hot. We ventured out to the Fort Worth Zoo, our favorite, and checked out the new MOLA exhibit. Matthew got to pet a snake and we all laughed as an iguana tried to attack us through the window. Our curious wanderer did not disappoint. Yes, we did loose Jake for a few quick and scary minutes. We then saw a bunch of school age kids veering around something in the covered wagon. He had the biggest grin on his face when we found him. The kids favorite thing to do was feeding the birds. Parakeets and other kinds of birds would land on your stick of food and would let you pet them as they ate. The kids really got a kick out of that, though I think their dad had even more fun in there.
Next on the agenda was Pentecost field day. Ava, Matthew, and Rachael got to play fun games as they learned about the gifts and fruits of the spirit. Thank goodness they had a lot of water stations and tents for shade - it was HOT. I am bummed that I forgot my camera. We all wore matching red t-shirts - even the babies.

Rachael has finally made it! We are potty trained!!!!

Jake and Jillian are going through this making animal sounds phase when I want something. It ranks up there with nails on a chalk board. I'm actually running out the door to go to work, I hope this does not last long...please.

I almost forgot one more thing, this past Memorial Weekend we got an above ground pool! So far so good - no leaks. The older kids have been playing in it for a few days now and its still holding. The babies and Rachael have their own pool to play in. Although, at first they had an issue with that. After placing them in life jackets and putting them in the big pool, they decided the small pool was the way to go. Other than the babies wanting in the big pool, we have had no other issues.
