We started fall off with of course a new school year using 2 co-ops as I went back to work full time to help take some of the load off with teaching. Rachael is doing well with her schooling; she loves writing and Latin classes. She currently want to be either a RN or a sonographer when she grows up. Rachael was invited to join the Capriccio Dance Company as a corps member. She now eats, sleeps, and breaths dance - she loves it! Jillian continues to work hard in hopes of being placed en pointe for the next summer (fingers crossed). In the mean time she loves tap and musical theatre productions class - who knew my shy kiddo would love Broadway. Ava is finishing her last semester of pre-reqs at Collin before she applies for dental hygiene programs. So far she has a 4.0 and has tested well in pre-entrance testing, but most of the schools only take 16 and several classmates have been trying for 3 years to get in. Really, she has a better chance of becoming a dentist - we'll see (fingers crossed for her too and lots of prayers!!!) Ava and Matthew are both working. Ava is at In N Out burger and Matthew is at Raisin Canes. Both pay way better than life guarding and you don't have to keep up an expensive certification. Matthew currently is interested in IT/cyber security and plans to start dual credit next year with some IT classes and other core classes. He continues to play waterpolo on the club leagues along with Jake and occasionally Ava stops by at a practice to show them all how its done (luxury of Dad being the coach.) Matthew attended homecoming with some friends again at the Pioneers of Flight Museum in Addison. Jake is our year round waterpolo player and apparently is really talented at it. He has been asked to play on Junior Olympic teams in California and Utah. There is not a tournament that goes by where we don't get asked about him. I wish it was a sport more recognized in this area - only west coast schools provide the good scholarship programs for this. Anyways, he's having a blast playing it and traveling around for tournaments. We had 3 September birthdays: Ava - 18yrs! Jake and Jillian - 11yrs! The littles and I squeezed in a field trip with some other homeschoolers to the Washington on the Brazos museum for part of our Texas History lessons. Of course it included a stop in West at the Czech store for kolaches and Baylor College's Common Grounds coffee shop - so good if you've never been. Our annual fall camping trip was extremely soggy, but luck would have it, we booked screened shelters for the first time this year. SO GLAD WE DID! It rained everyday, but we were able to squeeze 22 people in these little shelter for game nights! During the day, the kids just played out in the rain. Rosie was not a fan of the rain, but loved playing football and soccer with the boys! I think that sums it all up - here are the pics:
